Salt of the Earth Hotel

Design Concept

Volcanoes dominate the landscape of Nicaragua, as well as the art and consciousness of Nicaraguans. Basalt is a by product of volcanoes. It is an igneous rock that forms when lava cools as it reaches the Earth’s surface at a volcano or mid ocean ridge. When the lava cools quickly, it forms this solid rock. The formations can protrude from the earth in a stacked columnar structure that seems to support the natural beauty of Managua. Along with it’s beauty, basalt has many functional uses in the modern world. When ground into granular pieces, it can be used as an aggregate for construction and roadways.

The Salt of the Earth Hotel paired with a knowledgeable staff will function much like basalt. The elements in this hotel will solidify the design and become pillars that support and uphold the ideals of a boutique hotel. The details such as location, amenities, style, cultural influence and even staff will combine to pave the roadway for tourist in Managua, Nicaragua.
